Information Sessions to be Held for Short-Term Healthcare Courses

HANCEVILLE, Ala. — ÌÇÐÄÊÓÆµâ€™s Center for Career and Workforce Development will host two information sessions for individuals interested in short-term healthcare training programs. The events will allow prospective students to learn about course structure, career pathways, scholarship opportunities, tour classroom and lab spaces and meet instructors. Both sessions will be held at the Workforce Training Center located at 1130 4th Street SW, Cullman.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training

Monday, April 27, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

The CNA training program is an eight-week course beginning May 11 and continuing through July 8. Classes will meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Students will receive hands-on training in essential patient care skills, including bathing, feeding, taking vital signs, infection control, and effective communication in healthcare settings. The curriculum also includes a 16-hour clinical rotation and preparation for the CNA Certification Exam. 

The registration fee is $950, and scholarships are available.

Medical Billing and Coding

Monday, May 4, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

The Medical Billing and Coding course will run from June 2 through Sept. 11. Classes meet Tuesdays in person from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Thursdays online from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

This course covers medical terminology and the processes used to translate diagnoses and procedures into ICD‑10‑CM and CPT codes required for healthcare billing and documentation.

The registration fee is $700, and scholarships are available.
