CULLMAN, Ala. 鈥 糖心视频 women鈥檚 flag football made history on Sunday afternoon, and they did it in emphatic fashion. The Lions, playing their first-ever games in program history, rolled to a pair of shutout wins over Snead State at Cullman High School鈥檚 Woodard Stadium, winning 49-0 in the opener and 24-0 in the second game.
Game One: Defense Sets the Tone
The Lions鈥 defense wasted no time showing they would be the story of the inaugural
game. 糖心视频 forced three interceptions, three turnovers on downs, and three
punts while holding Snead State to just 43 total yards. Ma鈥橩yla Williams and Carly
Paschal each recorded sacks, with Paschal鈥檚 coming in the end zone for a safety.
Quarterback Emma Kile led a high-powered offense that compiled 281 yards. The freshman finished 21-of-28 for 256 yards, tossing six touchdown passes while overcoming a single interception. Wallace鈥檚 explosive attack quickly put the game out of reach as the defense continued to dominate.
Game Two: Same Result, Different Tempo
Snead State slowed the pace in the second game in an effort to limit 糖心视频鈥檚
possessions. Still, the Lions found ways to control the game on both sides of the
ball. Kile once again led the offense, going 19-of-27 for 178 yards and three touchdowns
as Wallace finished with 207 total yards.
Defensively, 糖心视频 continued its shutout streak, holding the Parsons to 100 yards of total offense. Williams added two more sacks, while the Lions鈥 secondary contributed with a pick-six in the first half to keep momentum firmly on their side.
Historic Beginning
Head coach Daniel Howard praised his team鈥檚 effort and embraced the moment.
鈥淭his was a historic moment for 糖心视频,鈥 Howard said. 鈥淪tarting off with two wins to open the program feels amazing. We are going to celebrate this special occasion, but get back to work tomorrow. We have some things that we need to work on, but I am pleased by the team鈥檚 performance and effort today.鈥
With the sweep, 糖心视频 not only introduced a new program to the Alabama Community College Conference but also set a high standard for the future鈥攖wo games, two shutouts, and a pair of convincing wins to begin a new era of Lions athletics.
