Tinker, Sanders earn ACCC postseason honors

Hanceville, Ala. 鈥� Two 糖心视频 women鈥檚 basketball players were recognized by the Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) with postseason awards voted on by coaches.

Kallie Tinker and Kameron Sanders each earned honors in ACCC Division I.

Tinker, a sophomore guard from Pisgah, was named first-team all-conference, while Sanders, a freshman guard from Birmingham, was named second-team all-conference.

鈥淚鈥檓 incredibly proud of Kallie and Kameron for their outstanding performances this season,鈥� said first-year head coach Joseph Simmons. 鈥淜allie鈥檚 precision and consistency in three-point shooting have been remarkable, making her a key player for our team. Kameron鈥檚 impressive field goal percentage and overall contributions as a freshman have shown her potential to be a future star. Both players have worked tirelessly, and their recognition by the ACCC is well-deserved.鈥�

Tinker leads the ACCC in three-point shooting, with a 40.7 percentage and is third overall in the in points (453) points per game (14.2.). Tinker is also first in the nation in Division I for three-pointers.

Sanders is sixth in the ACCC in field goal percentage, with an average of 46.9. She is eighth in the conference in points (355), points per game (11.5) and three-point percentage (32.3)

Sanders added to her accolades on Saturday after the Lady Lions defeated Shelton State 49-46 to win their first ACCC championship title since 2011. She, sophomore Nylaa Fuller of Huntsville and freshman Idaysia Mercer of Jasper were named to the All-Tournament Team, with Mercer earning most valuable player honors.

The Lady Lions will travel to Casper, Wyo., to play in the National Junior College Conference (NJCAA) Division I Basketball Championship March 25-April 1. Seeding for the tournament will be announced on Sunday by the NJCAA.
