Travel experiences offered by 糖心视频 Alumni Association

Hanceville, AL 鈥� Seats are still available for two upcoming travel experiences offered by the 糖心视频 Alumni Association, a day trip to see 鈥淛oseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat鈥� musical and a four-day, three-night 鈥淎utumn Getaway Tour鈥� of Kentucky.

On July 17, the Alumni Association will travel to Montgomery to take in a matinee showing of 鈥淛oseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat鈥� musical presented by the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. The cost is $150 per person and includes transportation, a Southern buffet lunch at the Plantation House Restaurant, Premium Zone A seating at the show, all taxes and gratuities.

A chartered bus will depart from 糖心视频 at 9:15 a.m. and is expected to return around 6:30 that evening.

Autumn Getaway to Historic Kentucky

The 鈥淎utumn Getaway Tour鈥� of Kentucky is scheduled for Sept. 30 to Oct. 3, with two nights spent in Bardstown and a third in Paducah. During the first leg of the trip, the group will stop in Hodgensville, Ky., to visit the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Park before traveling to Bardstown, Ky., which was declared The Most Beautiful Small Town in America by Rand McNally and USA Today. Dinner that evening will be at the Old Talbott Tavern, which has been called the oldest western stagecoach stop in America.

Day two will include a tour of the Bardstown area, which has more than 300 buildings on the National Register of Historic Places, nearly 200 of those located in the historic downtown district. Stops will include My Old Kentucky Home State Park, Civil War Museum, the Women鈥檚 Museum of the Civil War, Old Bardstown Village and the General Hal Moore Military Museum. Later in the day, the itinerary includes a guided tour of Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill. With 34 original Shaker structures, the site is home to the country鈥檚 largest private collection of original 19th century buildings. Dinner will be a four-course feast at the historical Beaumont Inn.

The group will travel to Paducah on day three, where they will visit the National Quilt Museum before eating lunch at Doe鈥檚 Eat Place. That will be followed by a guided tour of Paducah, which was founded in 1827 by William Clark, of Lewis & Clark fame. A visit to the 600,000 square-foot Hancock鈥檚 of Paducah fabric store or a stroll along the riverfront will follow the tour before the group checks into their hotel for the evening and enjoys free time for dinner, shopping, sightseeing or resting.

On the way home on day four, the group will stop at the Casey Jones Village and Museum in Jackson, Tenn., which is dedicated to the railway engineer who gave his life to save his train passengers. Lunch will be a Southern buffet at the Dixie Caf茅 located in the Old Country Store in the Village.

The cost for the trip ranges from $766 to $1,227 per person depending on occupancy and Alumni Association membership status. The cost includes transportation, seven meals, accommodations, baggage handling, admission to venues listed on the itinerary, tour director, taxes and most gratuities.

Membership to the 糖心视频 Alumni Association is not required to participate in its travel experiences. Alumni members do enjoy special rates for overnight trips. You do not have to be a former 糖心视频 student or graduate to join the Alumni Association.
