糖心视频 Theatre staging 鈥淭he Lightning Thief鈥 March 8-10

Hanceville, AL 鈥 Anyone who enjoys a story about a quest for redemption will enjoy 糖心视频 Theatre鈥檚 production of 鈥淭he Lightning Thief鈥 March 8-10.
A theatrical adaptation of Rick Riordan's popular young adult novel of the same name, 鈥淭he Lightning Thief鈥 follows the story of Percy Jackson, a teenager who discovers he is a demigod, the son of Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea. But when Zeus' lightning bolt is stolen and Percy is accused of the theft, he sets out on a quest with his friends Annabeth and Grover to find the real thief and prevent a war among the gods. Along the way, they encounter various mythical creatures and face numerous challenges.
鈥淭he play explores themes of friendship, identity, and the power of believing in oneself,鈥 said Angela Green, director of the 糖心视频 Theatre program.

Alex Bragwell of Albertville is cast as Percy. Elise Martin of Blountsville will portray Annabeth and James Knear of Arab will play Grover.

鈥淭he Lightning Thief鈥 will be staged on March 8 and March 9 at 7 p.m. and March 10 at 2 p.m. All showings will be held at the Betty Leeth Haynes Theatre inside the Garlan E. Gudger Student Center on the Hanceville campus. Admission is a $10 donation for adults and $5 for students and children under 12.
