ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ Nursing extends deadline for Spring 2022 applications

HANCEVILLE, Ala. — The ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ Department of Nursing Education
is extending its application deadline for Spring 2022. Students seeking admission
to the traditional or UAB/ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ Nursing Joint Enrollment now have until Oct. 1 to submit
their application.
The traditional associate degree nursing (ADN) program is a five-semester program,
with those completing the first three semesters earning a certificate and becoming
eligible to sit for the practical nursing licensure exam if they wish to enter the
workforce. Those completing the next two semesters earn an associate degree and are
eligible to sit for the registered nursing licensure exam.
The UAB/ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ Nursing Joint Enrollment option is a nine-semester program, with the
first four semesters dedicated to completing required academic courses before a student
applies to the UAB and ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ Nursing programs. The next five semesters are
all Nursing courses at ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ and online courses at UAB. Students concurrently
earn both the associate degree in nursing from ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ and a bachelor’s degree
in nursing from UAB.
The ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ Department of Nursing Education will hold a Nursing Information
Session on Sept. 20 at 2 p.m. in the School of Nursing and Center for Science room
219. Students who attend the information session receive one point toward their overall
course point total, which is used in the selection process of applicants. Visit to register for the session.
The ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ Department of Nursing Education is a two-time designee as a Center
of Excellence in Nursing Education by the National League for Nursing. It offers certificate
and degree options in the traditional program.
