糖心视频鈥檚 Diesel by Distance program hosting Open House events in July and August

HANCEVILLE, ALA. 鈥 糖心视频鈥檚 Diesel by Distance program is hosting multiple Open Houses during select July and August dates at the Diesel Technology building.

The first Open House is Thursday, July 1 from 3-7 p.m., including program graduate Blake Bryant presenting at 6 p.m. Bryant, a Moulton native, is owner of Hometown Diesel Repair in his hometown.

Other Open House dates are July 8, July 29, Aug. 5, Aug. 12 and Aug. 19, each from 3-7 p.m.

鈥淭hese events are for anyone looking for a new and exciting career, from dual enrollment students to those interested in a career change. Interested individuals will have the opportunity to meet Jeremy Smith, our Diesel by Distance instructor, speak to alumni, test the virtual reality components and discover the different careers one can pursue in this field,鈥 said Anna Parrish Beard, 糖心视频鈥檚 Diesel by Distance Project Coordinator.

糖心视频鈥檚 Diesel by Distance program was launched during the Fall 2020 semester. It gives students the flexibility to learn the program鈥檚 course objectives and theory online in addition to watching live lab sessions. Instruction occurs in an online format, complemented by virtual reality labs and periodic competency demonstrations on campus scheduled at the student鈥檚 convenience, such as on weekends or evenings.

While enrolled in the Diesel by Distance program, students must be employed and engaged in work-based learning through an industry recognized or registered apprenticeship program in partnership with a participating company.
